Bob’s Fusion Fence Project

Bob from Vermont, USA had an idea to create a fence out of continuous living wood by fusing willow cuttings. He sent me some pictures of his test project.

cuttings Here are the willow cuttings.

big cuttings These cuttings are huge, 1 to 3 inches in diameter and 3 feet long.

screws He connected the cuttings together with deck screws.

cuttings in ground2 After assembly was complete Bob planted the cuttings in the ground. This project is 3 feet tall and 2 feet wide. I asked Bob why he planted the cuttings in the middle of winter instead of spring, after all he has no roots yet. His reply was “I am not worried about the viability”. I guess he has done this before. I am anxious to see springtime pics.

Have fun!
